Asher Fisch - Conductor Asher Fisch is a regular visitor to the world’s leading opera houses and orchestras. He is currently Music Director of the New Israeli Opera and has also been Music Director of the Vienna Volksoper. Among his many projects at the Vienna Volksoper was a highly praised Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg for that company’s centenary. He has conducted Parsifal for the Vienna Staatsoper and Seattle Opera, Tristan und Isolde for the Royal Danish Opera, Der fliegende Holländer for Los Angeles Opera and Lohengrin for Seattle Opera. He studied Der Ring des Nibelungen with Daniel Barenboim in Berlin and Bayreuth and conducted Die Walküre. Asher Fisch has also conducted at the Bayerischer Staatsoper Munich, Leipzig Opera, the National Opera Tokyo, the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, Chicago Lyric Opera, the Metropolitan Opera New York, Houston Grand Opera, La Monnaie Brussels, the Bastille Paris, the Deutsche Oper Berlin and the Savonlinna Festival. He returned to Seattle to conduct Lohengrin, Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg, Der fliegende Holländer and Tristan und Isolde. Other engagements include Parsifal in Leipzig, more Wagner at the Dresden Semperoper, as well as Die Fledermaus at the Lyric Opera of Chicago and concert performances in Montreal, St Louis, Toulouse, Budapest, Leipzig, Dresden, and at the Amsterdam Concertgebouw. He is also an accomplished pianist.
