Sydney-born soprano Deborah Riedel studied at the New South Wales Conservatorium of Music where she won several major singing awards, which enabled her to further her studies in London and Europe.

She first established her singing career in Australia with The Australian Opera, the Victoria State Opera, the West Australian Opera and the Lyric Opera of Queensland, and she is now a regular guest artist with Opera Australia and all the state companies.
