Two new recordings from the Melbourne based Melba label which is dedicated to showing Australian talent can unashamedly take its place on the international music stage.

Christopher Wrench from Brisbane studied organ in Vienna, and has won a number of international competitions. He works as a church organist in Brisbane, as a teacher and as a performer. The organ sonatas are among Bach’s most sublime pieces and the disc presents Wrench at his best. His registrations are as Bach would have them, the organ, a reconstruction of a 1724 instrument, has a tonal freshness and the mechanism makes it a superb vehicle for Bach’s music ... The sound on both recordings is excellent and as always the texts that accompany the discs are top rate (and easily readable).
