Guillaume Tourniaire in Melbourne for Opera Australia and Orchestra Victoria

Following successful performances in Sydney of The Pearlfishers and Carmen with Opera Australia, brilliant French conductor Guillaume Tourniaire comes to Melbourne to direct an OA season in November and December of Lucia dI Lammermoor, with Emma Matthews in the title role.

DATES: November 19, 24, 27, 30, December 5, 8, 12, 15 matinee.


Guillaume Tourniaire, whose world premiere recordings for Melba have impressed reviewers around the world, will conduct a special concert with Orchestra Victoria featuring high points of the nineteenth century French repertoire and introducing some remarkable yet lost miniatures. Music to charm and delight!

Program: Le Poème de l’Amour et de la Mer, Chausson’s masterpiece of French Mélodie, with soprano Rosamund Illing and Dances from Saint Saëns’ operas including the famous Baccanale from Samson et Delila, and La Mer by Debussy.
