Reynaldo Hahn (August 9, 1874 – January 28, 1947) was a Venezuelan, naturalised French, composer, pianist, conductor, music critic, diarist, theatre director, and salon-singer. He is now best known as a composer of songs.

Hahn was child virtuoso, who unusually was admitted to the Paris Conservatoire at the age of 10 where his teachers included Jules Massenet, Charles Gounod, Camille Saint-Saëns and Émile Decombes. Notable among his fellow students were Alfred Cortot and Maurice Ravel.

As a composer, Hahn’s singular gift was clear to all from the outset; his ability to capture the subtleties of language and emotion in music. It is reported that the great Victor Hugo wept when he heard the setting of one of his poems by the 16-year-old Hahn.
