Vale Steve Davislim
It is with great sadness that we share the news of the death of Australian tenor Steve Davislim at the age of 57.
Steve featured in six Melba recordings of music ranging from beloved favourites to repertoire seldom if ever heard in generations. He imbued each with his characteristic elegance.
Steve built a stellar international career performing with a roster of the world’s greatest conductors, opera houses and orchestras. In the music profession he was a highly valued colleague, an exemplary musician and always a charming and generous friend. His voice was of intoxicating beauty, warm and golden hued – always employed with great sensitivity and impeccable taste.
“Davislim demonstrates singing that is radiant, masterly, lyrical and dramatic, underpinned by impeccable French diction." Turbulent Heart, Music of Vierne and Chausson. Revue Des Deux mondes (France)
We offer our sincerest condolences to Steve’s family and friends.
He will be greatly missed.
